Arrangements regarding the length, timing and number of sessions and will made on an individual basis and agreed with you. There is increased flexibility where health challenges are concerned. Once an appointment has been made, please notify me ASAP if you need to cancel/reschedule – less than 24 hours notice may incur a full fee. I would request that communication be by email or text message please.
I will inform you of my absences/holidays in advance. In unusual circumstances where I am unable to give you your booked session I will offer you an alternative time.
Our sessions are confidential. In interests of giving you the best support and for best practice I discuss my work regularly with a qualified Supervisor in accordance with the BACP ethical code.
There are 2 exceptions to confidentiality:
1. If I have reason to believe that you or someone else is in danger of serious harm. In this situation I will, if possible, discuss my concerns with you before taking any action to contact your GP, another health professional, Social Services or the police.
2. If I am subpoenaed and therefore required to give evidence by Law.
In accordance with General Data Protection Regulation 2018 the personal data you have given me is securely protected. My electronic devices are password protected and my paper notes are kept in separate locked storage from any detail identifying you. I delete your contact details and communications from my devices when our work together is done. Your personal details are not shared with anyone without your consent unless there are exceptional circumstances. You have the right to ask me to erase any information I hold about you.
If you wish to terminate our sessions I would ask that you let me know so that we can talk about it together and maximize the value of the support provided and work that has been done.
